The Wind River Mountains are the wild, big brother of the more famous Teton Mountains. Located 70 miles southeast of the Tetons, the Wind Rivers Mountains cover an area roughly 3 times larger and span nearly 75 miles in length. The Wind River terrain is every bit as impressive and intimidating as the Tetons, yet the mountains are far less developed and access is far more difficult.

The two most popular destinations within the Wind Rivers are Titcomb Basin and Cirque of the Towers. Titcomb Basin is the gateway to Gannett Peak, the tallest mountain in Wyoming, and arguably the second most difficult state-highpoint to climb, behind Denali in Alaska. The Cirque of the Towers is a basin of sheer granite spires surrounding alpine meadows and lakes, and has been justly described by Steve Bechtel as "one of the great gifts of the mountain gods" which "holds legendary status in American climbing."

To assist less-experienced climbers in these more popular areas of the Wind Rivers, the Exum Mountain Guides provide a superb guiding service to assist clients to improve their climbing skills and experience the awesome grandeur of alpine climbing.
